On October, 4th volunteers of the Moscow church of the Christ have taken part in the program «House of old friends» spent by Welfare fund «Hope worldwide», and could assist 96 lonely older persons and the veterans of the Second World War living in territory of Upravy Marfino of Moscow.
This day 30 volunteers of Church have allocated time and have arrived to give emotional support to people of old age and veterans of the Second World War. And also to visit at them on a visit, to spend necessary economic houseworks with which older persons to consult any more under force and personally to become someone the loved one, having offered a helping hand.
In our megacity there is a problem of dissociation and loneliness among people of old age. Many have got used to thought that last years the life in loneliness will spend. The majority of them are veterans of war and work, needy pensioners. This category of the population very sharply and painfully perceives all transformations to a society, and without having managed to reconstruct the mentality (from here there are difficulties of psychological character). There are many pensioners who are for various reasons deprived support (both material, and moral) from outside relatives. It is a lot of and those who is confined to bed and does not leave the house, requiring especial care and the help. The program «House of old friends» helps older persons to adapt and feel socially anew necessary to a society and each other.
Specially by this day the Fund had been prepared sets of necessary prime economic means for each of 96 pensioners. Volunteers have helped pensioners to inform them to the house, and to those who on health does not leave at all the house, have arrived on a visit and have handed over these gifts.
Day has turned out very sated and emotional both for veterans, and for volunteers. It was possible not only to help something on the house, but also simply to communicate heart-to-heart. And to tell to the people who have passed a way äëèííîþ in a life, was about what. At times íàâîðà÷èâàëèñü tears from stories of a life which veterans shared. But that they give them such necessary support came to an end all with smiles on their persons and words of gratitude to volunteers.
Alexander Alekseevna (86 years). The son has lost, when he was 11 years old. The husband has died 20 years ago. One lives. «Thanks you for such attention.
